I got the chance to meet Jynx at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas earlier this year and we agreed to do an interview. We ask Jynx Maze about her start, some of her fantasies, and her plans after porn. Enjoy the interview with Jynx Maze!

LBI: What were you doing and where were you living when you were discovered? Did someone approach you about the business or did you actively pursue it yourself?
Jynx: I was dancing in Northern California. I was living in the beautiful city of Chico for a couple years when I was discovered. But I actively pursued it. I applied to kink.com and another website or two, but kink was the first to get back to me. Since then I met people who shot a lot down in LA. They helped me out, telling me I need an agent, making the phone call to my agent and basically getting me hooked up. I’m very grateful to John Strong and Isis Love.

LBI: How long had you thought about being in porn before you actually took the first step?
Jynx: I first started thinking about it when I was 16…so about 3 years before I actually started.

LBI: Did you watch a lot of porn before getting in and if so, was it more for pleasure or education (to learn more about the business)?
Jynx : I watched some…and yes it was for pleasure Sure If I saw something crazy that caught my eye it was both for pleasure and education.

LBI: Are there any types of scenes you love to watch that get you turned on?
Jynx: Rough scenes…I like it when the guy beats the girl up a little bit…

LBI: When you watched porn – before getting into it – did it help define some of the fantasies or things you wanted to try for yourself (whether on camera or off)?
Jynx: Definitely! I was able to have hardcore at its finest lol….rough aggressive guys that could put it down! Yes, my fantasies came true

LBI: Are there any male performers that you are itching to work with or any that you want to give props to because you enjoy doing scenes with them?
Jynx:I have worked with quite a few…I’ll give props to Jordan Ash, Mike Adriano, Tony Ribas, Erik Everhard…love those guys : )

LBI: Where are you living at now?
Jynx: I am living in Southern California.

LBI: In some of your scenes, I notice you start talking in Spanish as you start really getting into the sex. Is this for effect or just something you do naturally?
Jynx: Both…I get into it…and the guy I work with does too…so it’s great.

LBI: I find it fucking hot when you start speaking in Spanish!

LBI: Is Spanish your native language or did you learn both English and Spanish simultaneously?
Jynx: I learned both English and Spanish at the same time.

LBI: You are part Peruvian right?
Jynx: I am.

LBI: Did you ever live in Peru or have you ever visited?
Jynx: I visited when I was around 7 years old.

LBI: What are some of your thoughts and how does it compare to the US?
Jynx: It makes me grateful for living in the USA. The “hood” out here is nothing like the ghettos in Peru….There’s beautiful places to go visit in Peru don’t get me wrong….I would go back again

LBI: Do you remember your first scene? Who was it with? Were you more nervous or excited?
Jynx: I do remember my first scene. It was a solo scene but my first boy/girl scene was with the company Kink.com for their site Public Disgrace (see Jynx Maze’s first scene ever here) and John Strong was the male talent. I was both nervous and excited.

LBI: How did you feel after it was over?
Jynx: Beat up! They kicked the shit out of me but in a good way…if you know the site you know what I’m talking about.

LBI: To this point, what do you think your best scene is? One that you loved filming and you know your fans will love to watch?
Jynx: Oh man I think Jules Jordan’s “Ass Worship 12” is really good or any from Evil Angel. And Anal Fanatic 2 (Elegant Angel).

LBI: I saw a scene you shot for Mofos “Real Party Sluts” in which you fucked 3 guys. You actually were airtight at one point (one in pussy, ass, and mouth). Are there more Gangbangs in your future? Was this a fantasy you had before porn or something you had done in your personal life?
Jynx: Yes there are more gang bangs in my future It’s a fantasy I had but I have never rounded up 4 or more guys at the same time in my personal life lol…

Jynx: I plan on keeping my them natural. I do not want implants.

LBI: Another comment that I found kind of funny was that your name “Jynx Maze” is worth a ton of points in scrabble. Can you share any insight on the name? Is there any story behind it?
Jynx: Not much other than I thought it sounded cute and I didn’t know any other girls who had the name.

LBI: Someone else said how the sexy leg tattoo is almost a trademark for you. Is there any significance behind it or a story you want to share?
Jynx: Not really, it’s just a sign of being rebellious

LBI: I checked out your Amazon Wish List. You love shoes I gues!. LOL.
Jynx: Lol I do, I have a lot in my closet.

LBI: There were also some items on your wishlist that would be more of the fetish/BDSM variety. I saw a Ball Gag, Clamps, and the Titan Ass Master and Ass Servant butt plugs. Is the BDSM scene something you have a personal interest in?
Jynx: Some….it’s not my lifestyle…but when I do want to play, I like to go all out.

LBI: I know you have shot for Kink.com – by chance, was that your first exposure to the BDSM scene?
Jynx: It was , yes.

LBI: Have you ever been collared or do you have a master?
Jynx: I do not have a master, but I’ve been collared in scenes.

LBI: I was asked to be on the nomination committee for TheGalaxyAwards and I considered you as a no-brainer for me for the “Best New Female Performer” category. Are awards something you worry about and do you have future goals of winning AVNs and the like? I think in time, you are going to be one of the bigger names in the business.
Jynx: Thank u ….Ahhh awards are nice but no it’s not something I stress over. As long as I’m working, and getting rebooked people know what’s up with me. I’m not trying to sound cocky but it’s true, I could give a shit as long as I’m making my paper! lol

LBI: When I saw you at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, I was impressed with how you handled the line of fans asking for your autograph and how well you interacted with all of them. You were at the Evil Angel booth. What is your affiliation with Evil Angel? Are you a contract star?
Jynx: No, I am not a contract star, just somebody that loves anal…and they specialize in that!

LBI: Are there any plans for a personal website and if so, when can we expect to see it?
Jynx: There are plans, but I’m not sure when because I like to have my stuff organized.

Jynx: No, not really but I think I will start pretty soon on streammate.com

LBI: How long do you plan or hope to be in the business?
Jynx: I don’t know. A couple years, I will have to see.

LBI: Eventually you’ll leave. What are some of your goals outside of porn?
Jynx: I’d like to have enough money saved up that I can start a business of my own. I want to have my house paid for, own land, and invest.

Natural, Down to Earth, Cute and Naughty!

LBI: It’s the last day of 2010 and I am here with one of my all time favorite Latinas adult stars, AVN and XBiz Nominee – Ann Marie Rios. First I have to ask…you have had an incredible year in 2010… are you doing anything special tonight to help celebrate the great year you have had?

AMR: Well, 2010 was a very good year for me. It was a the kind of year of getting myself back together and it laid the foundation for a lot of big things I have coming in 2011.

Tonight, I am going to Supper Club in L.A. with some very close friends of mine. It’s a really cool place. Upscale dinner and a show…the show is comparable to Cirque De Soleil and they perform in front of where you are sitting. I first went to the one in San Francisco when I was covering it for Playboy TV Show.

LBI: Let’s summarize some of your highlights from 2010: You were cast in one of the most talked about releases of the year in the Official Jersey Shore Parody, you received an AVN Nomination for “Most Outrageous Sex Scene” with your part in Belladonna’s Party of Feet 2 and most recently your Xbiz nominations for “Pornstar Website of the Year” for http://www.annmarierios.com and “Best Actress” for “Engagement Party”.

Let’s talk about your website, AnnMarieRios.com, first. When did you launch the site?

AMR: We started on July 14th, 2010.

LBI: How active were you with the development of it as well as the ongoing updates?

AMR: Well I am very active and involved with it aside from the technical aspects because I haven’t learned that side of it and I don’t have the time to try and learn it. As you said, I’ve been in the business for quite some time. I partnered with someone who was going to design my site but then when I went under contract with Metro, they were going to do my site. But then I left the business before having a site built. Then when I came back to the business, I had talked to several people but it was never a good fit and it never worked out. Finally, I have found an amazing partnership with PremiumCash. It just works really well. I actually sat down with John from Premium Cash and we went over things for the site. I took a lot of time to think about what I wanted. I looked around at a lot of different sites to find out what I liked, what I didn’t like. I picked out color schemes and determined how I wanted it to be laid out. They have a very good formula and it was a great collaboration. They’ve honored everything I have asked them to do with the site and have been excellent.

LBI: How active are you with updates?

AMR: Since the site launched, I drop off new content every single week for them to update the site with. There is an update to my site one to three times every week. I do video blogs from the sets or on the road while dancing. All kinds of crazy stuff. I’ll do it from my hotel room while on the road. I upload new photo sets, new video sets, and every other Tuesday I do a live webcam show for my members. If you’re not a member, you can still watch my cam shows on a per-minute basis through Streamate. So I get to interact with my fans every other Tuesday.

I am going to be putting more focus on the site in 2011.

LBI: With regard to your live webcam shows for your members, I think that the personal interaction with your fans is one of the best things any model can do. That’s a smart move on your part.

AMR: Well thank you . It’s seems to be where everything is going. And it’s true that with the webcam content, it can’t be stolen. You know I used to do quite a bit of web camming for Naughty America and they were really awesome to me. I have a great relationship with them. With offering webcamming through my AnnMarieRios.com, if my fans want to webcam with me, they know where to go. But even non-members of my site can still webcam with me on pay per minute basis through Streamate (http://annmarierios.cammodels.com/)

LBI: Do you also interact with your fans through Social Media?

AMR: Yeah. I do love Twitter. I actually opened an account on Facebook too but then it got deleted which was weird because I didn’t have any pictures up. I guess I approved too many people one day but I am going to get on there again. But I’m mostly on Twitter. I enjoy Twitter. (NOTE: You can – and should – follow her @msannmarierios )

CAREER IN THE PORN BUSINESS – A VETERAN’S POINT OF VIEW

LBI: When did you start performing in the adult entertainment business?

AMR: In 2001. So this April will be my 10th year. Were kind of talking about throwing a 10 year party.

LBI: Were you active all 10 years or did you take a break at any point?

AMR: In ’05, after I was under contract with Metro I took a couple of years off from doing hardcore scenes but I was still active with softcore movies and was still doing Playboy TV and Playboy Radio. In 2007, I came back into doing some Girl-Girl scenes and then later that year I got back into doing boys.

LBI: Wasn’t it in 2007 when you started using the name Ann Marie Rios rather than just Ann Marie?

AMR: “Rios” was added when I came back into the business. I added it for a lot of reasons. A lot of people were asking me why I added it. One reason was to establish the fact that I am latin. People were curious if I was Italian, or middle eastern or this or that. The second thing was to differentiate between the Ann Marie performer (singer) and the Ann Marie Rios performer. They are really two different types of performers. Quite honestly, I was also tired of people just calling me Ann. The name’s Ann Marie. A lot of people thought it was two names and would call me Ann. I really don’t like being called Ann – I wanted to establish Ann Marie as my first name.

LBI: You mentioned that adding Rios was to establish your Latina heritage. How important is that to you?

AMR: I was born and raised in Los Angeles but I still have family in Costa Rica. I am hoping to buy some land in Costa Rica and maybe retire there one day.

LBI: That’s interesting because I have a similar goal and am hoping to visit Costa Rica later this year too.

AMR: It’s an awesome country and you’ll fall in love with it pretty much right away.

LBI: You at one point wrote a column for Latina.com. Can you tell me a little about that?

AMR: Yeah. That was a lot of fun and it lasted a little over a half year. They were very cool people but I guess they were getting to much heat from some conservative people in the Latin community. Some of the people really embraced it and some people were just not happy that an adult star was giving advice. It still ended on good terms and they are really cool people. It was a great and awesome opportunity that gave me a lot of exposure to people who otherwise would have never heard of me.

LBI: I think you have had a fair amount of exposure to mainstream media. You mentioned the Sirius radio show for Playboy. Is that something you are still doing?

AMR: Up until about two months ago, I was doing my Private Calls show every Wednesday. That show aired every week for over 4 years, and it still airs today occasionally. I will be back on Playboy Radio this year, with a new show. Details to follow. Its under wraps for now, but stay tuned.

LBI: You were also in Mark Ronson’s video for “Oooh Whee” and also on the Fox network’s “Skin”. Do you still pursue cross-over opportunities or are you more focused on your adult career?

AMR: I don’t really pursue it but if things come my way, I am definitely willing to do it because it’s a lot of fun. It’s pretty easy. You don’t have to worry about whether your vagina is shaved and all these other things you stress out about when you are going to have sex on camera. I like doing it. It’s fun but I don’t really pursue it because I am not the type who enjoys doing the whole casting call thing especially when I know that there are people willing to hire me. I’m not above it by any means and I have done it before but it’s hard to run around doing that when there are too many people willing to hire me. I can’t spend time racing around to auditions. But if someone called me and offered me a part, I am sure I would be willing to do it. Mark Ronson was really polite & professional. Its awesome to see how much he has blown up since that music video was shot. I hope to get the chance to work with him again some day soon.

LBI: You actually took some acting classes when you were younger so I guess you’ve had aspirations of being an actress?

AMR: Umm…not so much. I took them right when I got into the business and it was just kind of for fun because I wanted to learn more about being on set and I wanted to understand some of the technical aspects of camera left and camera right and checking the Gate. You know at that time I was starting to do a lot of features. I think I might have just signed my contract with Metro and I was doing all features for them. I wanted to be a better actress and be better on set so that I would be the type of person where the people would say, “I need her on set because she makes my job easier.” It was for fun but it was cool though.

LBI: I didn’t realize you went to the acting school after you were in porn. It has to help you in getting additional opportunities such as the “The Official Jersey Shore Parody” in which I would assume the acting elements are pretty important. Obviously they helped you with some regard as well since you earned an XBiz nomination for “Best Actress” for Engagement Party.

AMR: Yeah, it definitely helped.

LBI: So with a little better understanding of some of those technical aspects, do you intend on doing any directing ever?

AMR: I directed “Babes Illustrated 14” which was just before I took my hiatus from hardcore. So when I came back the industry had changed. Features were down and things were moving to the internet. A lot of the directors were just trying to keep their jobs so I really didn’t try to pursue it when I came back. I’m not really against it or anything I just haven’t pursued it but you never know what can happen in 2011.

LBI: Can you explain how you go about balancing your career with normal everyday life? Is it a challenge, is it easy, or is something you have just adapted to and don’t really think about it?

AMR: You know I guess it could be all of the above. For the most part I have learned to deal with it but there are some times it can be a challenge. To me I don’t really think of myself as a porn star. (laughs) It’s funny when I say that I guess. I really don’t think of myself as a porn star because I don’t live the life of what someone might expect from a “porn star”. You know, sex, drugs, rock n roll. I mean I did party a lot more when I was younger, but I enjoy the work aspect of it and I’m on the road dancing and stuff like that. I just enjoy my work and I am not concerned with those other types of things. I just think of myself as a normal chick and this is my job. It’s kind of weird. I forget that I guess I kind of am a porn star. So, it’s funny when I have my “mainstream” friends and they introduce me to other people and they say “this is Ann Marie and this is what she does” and they’re like “aaahhh” but not in a bad way. It’s just weird because I don’t really think that much of it. It’s kind of like breathing to me at this point.

LBI: Do you ever have worries about fans stalking you or anything? I noticed the other day Nina Mercedez was upset with Twitter because they were posting the model’s birth names on their profiles. Her concern was obsessed fans trying to track her down. Is it something you have to worry about?

AMR: Well, I have had some kind of weird instances for sure and so whenever I am at an appearance, convention, or dance event I always have some security with me – always! As far as when I am just out and about at a club or restaurant or wherever, I’m not really thinking about people recognizing me and trying to kidnap me or doing something crazy because for the most part – and this has helped me kind of embrace it to the point where I’m not like “oh no, that’s not me, I don’t know what you’re talking about” – for the most part I attract some really polite, nice people. I don’t do anything really hardcore or degrading to women so the type of viewers I attract are a lot of couples or women or open minded people who are normal people that are just looking for a little fun when they come home from work. I’ve always found, knock on wood as I say this, that people are nice and respectful towards me. There are some times where people say something to me and I’m like “really?, ok, that’s not funny” but the most part everyone is pretty cool so I don’t mind it.

LBI: I did an interview with a hottie named Gabby Quinteros and she’s kind of new to the business. One of the questions I asked her was if she had a specific Latina porn star she would love to get with and here was her reply: Then there are ones that are equally beautiful but I am extremely attracted to like Ann Marie Rios, a few others and Ann Marie Rios. Wait, did I already say Ann Marie Rios? Ha ha. So, she obviously has the hots for you. I am wondering if there are other performers (Latina or otherwise) that you make an extra effort to shoot with?

AMR: Well. I definitely look forward to shooting with Gabby as well because she is a sexy mamacita. As far as anyone else, there are a lot of people that I think are hot but there are not too many people where I am like “oh, I have to shoot with them”. I mean, I do in a way but I kind of just go with the flow and don’t try to match things up too much except for when it comes to my site. I’ll try to shoot with people that I have not shot with in a movie or anywhere else so that I can offer my members truly unique scenes. But other than that, I kind of go with the flow.

LBI: Is there anything you want to add or say to your fans?

AMR: I love my fans and they’re awesome. There are some that have been with me since 2001 when I started and I hear from them on a regular basis and they’ve become my friends. I really have some awesome quality fans and I know that I don’t have the most fans of all the girls but I know that I have the best for sure.

Over the past year and a half, I have had the pleasure to talk with Gabby through MySpace and Twitter and finally decided it was time to learn more about this fiery latina.  Gabby agreed to do an interview with LBI and we talked with her on a variety of subjects, from being a MILF to using social media to connect with fans.

Where were you born and where did you grow up?

I was born in Mexico but you can say I was raised here in the US. To be specific, my family is from Guadalajara, Jalisco. It’s kind of the culture center of Mexico and it’s also where Tequila originated from. *big grin*

We love the combination of latinas and tequila! Gabby, we met on MySpace but I can’t quite remember the details….do you remember how we met?

I first saw LBI on MySpace. I ran into LBI when I was searching for some of the MySpace sites of some Latinas in the industry. I then checked out your site, LatinBabeIndex.com, and saw it had good bio’s and links to all their pages and websites of some of the hottest girls out in the industry.

Cool. We are glad you like the site. Talk about your journey into the world of adult entertainment.

My journey to the adult entertainment industry started in a gentleman’s club in San Diego.  I thought it was really taboo back then and I wanted to try it out.  I don’t know how to explain it, but the last few years I have really opened up sexually.  From then on, with the blessing of my significant other, I contacted LATM (Lisa Ann Talent Management), and spoke to Lisa Ann. I had a great time being interviewed by her.  She’s was amazing and supportive to me.  And by the way, she’s even hotter in person.

We have not been fortunate to meet her yet. But thanks for the heads up! So how old were you when you realized you wanted to perform (strip/films, etc)?

I was in my late 30’s when I decided I wanted to do adult films. It’s a big turn-on and it completely takes my pleasure to another level.  To be touched, kissed and penetrated by lets say a male talent, hot pornstar or boy-toy, is amazingly different.  Just thinking about it makes me wet.

Were you performing before you met your significant other?

No.  I have only been dancing a few years and been with my significant other for over 14 years.  We have a very strong relationship with a concrete foundation.

Do you still perform at the clubs?

I perform only in San Diego. In my opinion, the clubs in San Diego provide a unique atmosphere, which I love.  They are really laid back and super friendly, kind of like me.

You are indeed a true MILF.  Does being a mother force you to approach your career differently?

When I’m at home, I am a wife, nurturing mother, and friend.  As a Latina, “la familia is primero”.

What was your first scene and can you tell us how it went?  Did you do anything special to mentally prepare for it?

My first scene was with Naughty America (SEE IT HERE).  I was a little nervous since I didn’t know what to expect.  Once we got started, I was like “I can’t believe I’m getting fucked right now, right here!”  I totally loved it. I was hooked.

And now a lot of people are hooked on you! Let’s talk about outside the adult realm: We hear you’re a big fan of the Chargers and Lakers.  How long have you been a sports fan?

I just got into basketball, so I still have a lot to learn about that game. But I’ve been following football for years now since my entire family loves the Chargers.

I love watching almost any type of sports. I like to cook special dishes and gather the family around a good game of either football, baseball or some MMA action.

Since we are on the subject of sports, you were pretty involved with the World Cup that just completed and were involved with Vicky Vette, Miss Hybrid, Bobbi Eden as a part of #TeamBJ.  How did you get involved in this and what exactly is #TeamBJ?

The 2010 World Cup was so much fun. Every since I joined Twitter, I have always shared my thoughts and experiences with my followers, especially during sport events and games. Although I am not a member of her VNA (Vette Nation Army), Vicky Vette and I have enjoyed a good friendship before Twitter caught on. Before the USA played Ghana, Vicky totally caught my eye with a bold pledge. She promised her followers that if the USA team won the World Cup, she would blow all of her followers. I was already having fun with the nail biting matches but to put your money where your mouth is, well, it seemed like my kind of fun. And so I became part of #TeamBJ.

As you know, the USA lost to Ghana so then followers asked #TeamBJ to carry over the pledge to England since Miss Hybrid is English. Well, the English lost to a talented team, the Germans. Bobbi, a hot Dutch blonde, stepped it up and we all got behind her promise that if the #NED (Holland) won the World Cup, she would give a BJ to all her followers with the help of Vicky Vette, Gabby Quinteros and Miss Hybrid.

I’ve said it many times…Twitter is probably one of the best social tools that has ever been created. To be able to communicate with people, in real time, from all over the world, is amazing.

Twitter allows me to communicate and express myself with my fans like no other media. I’m able to share the real Gabby Quinteros with my fans. We are following you, and now many more of the LBI Nation will be too!! Now as far as music goes, what kind do you like?  What is the last CD/MP3 you bought or listened to (or last concert you went to)?

My music tastes are well rounded. If you listen to what I have in my Ipod, you would agree. I have Lady Gaga, The Smiths, The Eagles, Pit Bull, and AC/DC. I think variety adds spice to life. The same thing applies to my sexual life. Ha ha.

Do you still go out to the nightclubs and try to pick up the hotties?

I haven’t been to a club in a while. I am not a fan of paying a cover charge and dance with a bunch of strangers.  If I want to pick up a hottie, I would rather pick up industry talent or my girlfriends with benefits.  There are so many hotties out there.  Besides, if I want to relax or party, I go to my club and have my girlfriends shake their asses for me.  I am a big fan of strip clubs, by the way.

Speaking of hotties, I know you visit LatinBabeIndex a lot – who are your favorite Latinas?  Are there any you would like to either film a scene with or just bring back to your bed?

I can definitely say I like all of them. And I’m not just saying that. I have many favorites. LBI: Let’s talk about the transition from Little Lupe to Lupe Fuentes. It was more than a just a name change. It was a new beginning for you as well. What does the name change represent and how is Lupe Fuentes different than Little Lupe and Zuleidy?
Lupe Fuentes: I was a little girl with Little Lupe. I am older now and I know what I want. Little Lupe was a little girl and a success on the internet. I have bigger goals now and I plan on becoming a big film star.

LBI: You grew up in Spain but were born in Columbia, right?
Lupe Fuentes: Yes, I was born in Columbia and moved to Spain at the age of 4.

LBI: At what age did you know that you would like to be an adult film star?
Lupe Fuentes: When I was 15, I was watching a movie with my friends and I said I want to be a porno star. I love the sex and I wanted to be famous like Britney Spears. (Lupe laughs upon saying Britney Spears)

LBI: What are your goals as an adult film star in America? Do you want to win awards, make a lot of money?
Lupe Fuentes: Well, I think I want to win awards and make money but the most important thing for me is that I really want to make my fans happy. The most important thing is to make a personal connection with my fans because they are the most important critics.

LBI: What are your goals after you retire from performing in the adult industry?
Lupe Fuentes: I am not thinking about it yet. I have a lot of confidence and energy and I can do whatever I try. I love technology and I love the internet but I love the porn industry so much and even after I finish performing I still want to be involved in it.

LBI: Are you living in Los Angeles?
Lupe Fuentes: Yes, I love it. All my life I wanted to come to the USA. It’s so beautiful and big. I love LA. I love the food.

LBI: Have you been to a Lakers game?
Lupe Fuentes: No but I love baseball and the New York Jets. Evan took me to play baseball and it was a lot of fun.

LBI: Do you get recognized by people in LA while you are out shopping or going out?
Lupe Fuentes: Yes, it happens a lot. They mainly recognize me as Little Lupe.

LBI: Did they recognize you on the streets of Spain?
Lupe Fuentes: Yes, I did a lot of TV shows and TV interviews. I was in a mainstream comedy movie with Santiago Segura. He is the Adam Sandler of Spain. It was a very funny movie that played in all the theaters. I was also on a lot of magazine covers so people recognized me.

LBI: I know you are trying very hard to learn English. How is that going for you?
Lupe Fuentes: I have been studying English a lot. When I first moved to LA, I did not speak a single word. My first 10 days were very tough because I did not know anything. It’s funny, I went to the restroom with a friend and I tried to say it is really good but I ended up saying it’s really expensive. I have learned everything in 6 months. I spend a lot of time with Evan and he is very good in helping me learn the language.

{Lupe’s English skills are amazingly good considering she just started learning the language 6 months from the time of this interview. Her accent is cute!}

LBI: Before moving to California, how familiar were you with the porn industry in the United States? In what ways is the industry different in the United States compared to Spain?
Lupe Fuentes: Of course I knew of the American porn stars. The promotion in the USA – it is very big. Spain is a smaller market.

LBI: While in Spain, were there any American porn stars (male or female) that you considered your favorite and who are some of your new friends you have made in the industry?
Lupe Fuentes: Sunny Leone – I have a special connection with her. I also like Sasha Grey and Kacey Jordan. Kacey is my friend and I have a lot of fun with her. I plan on working together with Sunny for some content for my website. I can’t wait to shoot these scenes.

LBI: Some of your fans, not all of them, have expressed worry that you may no longer be doing boy-girl hardcore scenes. Is this true?
Lupe Fuentes: No. Not at all….A lot of the content for the new site is going to be hardcore. There will be some Boy/Girl, Boy/Girl/Girl. I think my fans will like the style of my scenes. There will be a lot of POV so that the guys can imagine being with me. My site will combine a little of the style from Little Lupe and a little from the Interactive DVD. LBI: Many adult stars either make extra money by dancing at Gentlemen’s Clubs or they started their adult entertainment career as strippers. Is this something you have ever done?
Lupe Fuentes: Yes. I have been dancing for 5 months. I love it. My first time, I was a little nervous. I had never been a dancer at the strip clubs. They are not popular in Spain.

LBI: When does www.ILoveLupe.com launch?
Lupe Fuentes: I am shooting all the content these days. I think around April 15th.

LBI: What will your fans expect to find on the site? Will you be offering webcam shows for members only?
Lupe Fuentes: Each week I will do a free webcam show for my members. I will also keep a video blog as well. There will also be contest for fans for them to win custom videos for him – or her. Bonzo – he is very small. He is a micro tea cup Pomeranian. He is so sweet. He loves me a lot and always hangs out with me.

LBI: What kind of music do you like? Who are your favorite musicians?
Lupe Fuentes: The Spyderz of course. I also love rap music. Akon, Rhianna.

You used to go by Maria Menendez – explain why you changed your name and how is Ryan Keely a different person than Maria Menendez?
I couldn’t trademark Maria Menendez. I used it when I worked in the industry with my clothes on, and I did a few titles with that name.But as I realized how serious I was about pursuing a career as a nude model, I also realized that using my real name wouldn’t give me an obvious way to disconnect from the fantasy I am playing out.

How many movies were you in as Maria Menendez?
Not sure, only two I want to admit to. They were by Andrew Blake and 3rd Degree but I am not sure of the titles.

I shoot for other people and I’m with LADirect (Adult Agency LADirect Models) right now. I think it is important to work for other companies for many reasons. Working for more than my site gets my name out to fans of whatever director or company I happen to be shooting for. It’s important to work with new directors and photographers. It forces you to grow as a model, you learn to trust the artists and submit to their vision. Modeling and performing is a collaboration between the artist and the model/s and when you open yourself up to suggestion, the creativity and the sexuality just happens. It’s fun to get to that place with new people. That’s why I like having an agent, I work with people I never would have sought out on my own and I meet great girls on set, sometimes we work together, sometimes we don’t.

Are there any specific directors and/or photographer that you would like to work with?
I would love to work with Terry Richardson, but it is my understanding that he is no longer shooting nudes.

I want to work with John Leslie, he is my favorite adult director of all time. I want to work with mainsteam people on a lark.

So, before you got into the business, were you watching a lot of porn?
I reviewed adult DVDs for over two years. I had a weekly show on KSEX Radio and Playboy.

I also wrote reviews for Wantedlist.com and I worked as the DVD buyer for Hustler San Diego back in my salad days. So yes. I also bought DVDs for WantedList. I started working at Hustler at the age of 18, and I won’t admit to seeing any adult movies underage.

I was always interested in sexuality. I sought out and read every related book I could find. I started my research at the age of 11 and it’s evolved since then.

When you say books – are you referring to erotica?
Erotica, how to guides, psychology…lots of psychology books. I was bored by most erotic fiction, and still am.

So one day you decided that you wanted to not only review, but perform as well?
Becoming a performer is part of my ongoing quest to understand my sexuality

Psychology plays a major part in sexuality….do you find most gonzo scenes to be boring?  It is not that the traditional story lines in porn are all that exciting either, but the movies in which there is a bit of character development and getting into the mind of the character can go a long way…would you agree with that?
Boring is bad casting! If you turn a camera on individuals who are enjoying have sex and are able to capture it with some skill, you have something great. Sex is beautiful!

So there needs to be some level of connection between the performers?  Are there any performers you are itching to work with?
